U.S. Rep. Barney Frank publicly acknowledges that he is gay.

In an interview with Boston Globe reporter Kay Longcope, Frank says, “If you ask the direct question, ‘Are you gay?’ the answer is, Yes. So what?” The first openly gay member of Congress, Frank then adds, “I’ve said all along that if I was asked by a reporter and I didn’t respond it would look like I had something to hide and I don’t think I have anything to hide.”
